Social Studies Resources

The Ontario Social Studies curriculum (Grade 1-6) is divided into two strands: Heritage and Identity and People and Environments. In Grade 7/8, students study Geography and History, which are each also divided into two strands. The strands for History are organized chronologically, and the strands for Geography are organized thematically (human and physical geography).

Although there are differences in focus, concepts, and the types of questions asked in each grade level, our resources allow all students to engage in topics through the inquiry process.
