This project is intended as a culminating task for Grade 8 Geography - Global Settlement: Patterns and Sustainability.

For this assignment, students will design a sustainable settlement with 400 housing units. They will apply what they have learned about types of land use, sustainability, and human settlement to design their own community, including infrastructure, community services, waste disposal, and residential areas. After planning their design, they will draw it on Bristol board with a written explanation of its unique features.

For research, students can use notes that they took during the unit, their geography textbook, other non-fiction texts, or online sources.
